Due to the higher turbidity removal rate of fiber bundle filter media compared to traditional filter media, routine testing of the filtered water in the fiber bundle filter tank showed that the ammonia, nitrogen, and nitrite nitrogen content were 20-25% lower than that of particle filter media, while iron and manganese were 20-30% lower. Oxygen consumption and microbial indicators also decreased.
In the same situation, compared with traditional filter media, fiber bundle filter media has better operating parameters such as filtration rate, filtration cycle, filtration water volume, and head loss than uniform particle filter media.
After calculation, the MSC of the uniform particle filter material is 664kg/m3, and the MSC of the fiber filter material is 2024kg/m3. The fiber filter material pool is three times higher than the uniform particle filter material pool, indicating that the filtration performance of the fiber bundle filter material is better than that of the particle filter material.
The fiber bundle filter material avoids the limitation that the particle size of the particle filter material cannot be reduced downwards, so that the diameter of the filter material reaches μ M-level greatly increases the specific surface area of the filter material, reaching 3500m2/m3, increasing the contact opportunity between suspended solids in water and the filter material and the adsorption capacity of the filter material, thereby improving the filtered water quality. The porosity of the bundle fiber filter material is greater than 0.9, and the interception capacity can be increased without increasing the filtration resistance. Moreover, the filtration speed is high and the filtration cycle is long.
The service life of fiber bundle filter material is more than 10 years, avoiding the trouble of frequent filling and regular replacement of traditional filter materials, reducing the labor intensity of workers and the time for water outage maintenance
